Football Positions Explained
Every snap is eleven players with jobs: throw, catch, block, rush, cover, or tackle.
Offense: the quarterback starts the play, linemen protect or open lanes, receivers and tight ends create throwing answers, and the running back is both a runner and a checkdown.
Defense: linemen control gaps, linebackers fit the run and cover the intermediate field, corners own the outside, and safeties are the last line plus the rotation clue.
You do not need every name to play OpenPlay. You need the job: who has the ball, who is trying to take it away, and who is occupying space.
