OPOpenPlay Football

Football, without the secret language

Television shows the result quickly. It does not always show the decision. OpenPlay slows one snap down until the call, the coverage, the read, and the explanation are visible.

A play is an idea: stretch a defender, create an extra blocker, or occupy a zone so someone else is open. A defense is also an idea: divide the deep field, match a receiver, or add a rusher.

The interesting moment is the conflict between those ideas. Challenge Lab is built around that conflict. You lock a call, the defense is revealed, and you make one decision while the picture is still developing.

Outcomes are simplified. A useful review asks whether the choice was reasonable with the information available, not whether the ball happened to bounce into a highlight.
