Call the offense
1
Set the field
Choose a fictional offense and opponent. Every possession begins at your own 35-yard line.
2
Check the situation
The scoreboard keeps down, distance, field position, and the current play number in view.
3
Choose and lock
Compare the available concepts, then lock your call. The defense stays hidden until you commit.
Read the moment
1
See the defensive picture
Review the front, coverage, and summary. Open the disguise note when you want the pre-snap explanation.
2
Start the play
Watch routes, blocks, rushes, and coverage move together. Change the animation speed at any time.
3
Make the football decision
The action pauses at the key read. Pick the response you think best fits what the defense is doing.
Learn the why
The result is more than yardage. OpenPlay connects the outcome to the matchup so the next call is an informed one. A sound read can still produce a poor result. Decision quality and outcome quality are related, but they are not the same thing.
- Turn on AI assist before a snap if you want a slightly friendlier simulation bounce.
- Fourth down is your call: go, punt, or attempt a field goal when one is available.
- The drive log keeps every snap, so you can see how the possession developed.
