Field Position
Field position describes where the ball is and how that location changes risk, play selection, and scoring choices.
Your own 20 is dangerous because a mistake can become points the other way. Midfield is a launch point. The opponent 30 is scoring territory.

As the ball moves, the same concept changes value. A screen that works at midfield can die in the red zone because there is no space behind the rush.
