Defensive Fronts
A defensive front aligns box defenders to control gaps, influence blocking combinations, and generate pressure.
An even front spaces linemen evenly. Over and under fronts shade toward or away from the tight end.
A bear front covers the center and both guards, which makes interior runs hard.
A double-mug look puts linebackers on the guards and often means pressure is coming.
